| What does this software do? | Keywords Analyzer is a keyword research tool that offers a number of different tools to build keyword lists. At it's heart, it generates large lists of keywords that people are already searching for - that are popular. It also offers information as to the number of PPC ads and competing pages in the search engines. As well as many keyword list management tools. |
| Initial notes | Keywords Analyzer has undergone many face lifts, minor tweaks and major upgrades over the years. I've been using this tool since it's earliest incarnation. I use it more than any other keyword research tool - on a daily basis - and I'm very familiar with it's strengths and weaknesses. So this should be an easy review to do. |
| Buying notes | Keyword Analyzer is available through Share-it. They have been processing credit card payments since 1996. I've bought a number of software products through them and have never had any problems. You can download this product immediately after payment. |
| First impressions |
When you fire up Keywords Analyzer for the first time, you're confronted with a bright, clean interface. There's a number of icons down the left side of the page which give access to the software's 7 or so major tools.
Along the top of the page you have shortcut icons to common operations like Begin search, Close, and Stop search. I've been using this gadget for years now and have yet to see a crash or problem with the programming. |

Multiple keyword search
A real plus with this tool over something like Overture's free search is that you can search for multiple words at a time. The box where you input your keywords has multiple lines, so instead of running a search on 'pet food', you can run a search on: pet food dog food cat food ... all at the same time. Quick and easy keyword search If you click on Simple Search on the left column, you get a search similar to Overture's suggestions. If you enter a term like 'home', it will bring back popular phrases that contain that word. eg. home builder, home loan and so on. You can then choose any of these words and open a new search featuring this phrase. If you just want a quick and easy keyword list, this is the first of two major tools you'll enjoy using. Finds phrases that the free searches like Overture miss One of the things that I really like about Keywords Analyzer is that it finds a lot of phrases that other tools (especially the freebie ones) miss out on. Both competitive keywords and more obscure ones where you'll pay a lot less for each click. Advanced search for huge keyword lists The second tool here that I use every day is Advanced Search. This is great for when you need a really long, exhaustive keyword list. Advanced search digs a lot deeper than simple search and will bring back thousands of keyphrases in one list. I often leave this thing running for 10 minutes or more, allowing it to dig out every possible variation for my market. Finding related terms This is an absolutely fantastic tool. In the settings of Keywords Analyzer you input your Google Adwords username and password. This expands what Keyword Analyzer can do and it logs in and uses googles tool to bring up some keyword variations that you would just never have thought of. Powerful keyword list editing tools I only recently found this section and it's 5 tools that are aimed at increasing and managing your keyword lists once you've created them. I really like the Find Misspellings and Remove Duplicates Tools. Make sure you check out all 5 as they really are invaluable to building large lists of phrases that your competition are likely missing. |

No keyboard shortcuts
One of the things I'd love to see in a future version of Keywords Analyzer is some keyboard shortcuts. I'd like to be able to press something like CTRL + ENTER to start searches running. Or CTRL + N on the keyboard to start a new search. I find keyboard shortcuts save a lot of time. No way to export to Excel This was sort of weird and something that might bug some people. To get your keywords into Excel, you have to copy and paste them from Keywords Analyzer to Excel. It's only a few seconds work to do that but it would be nice to be able to export directly from this software to a .csv file or something similar. |

| The verdict |
This is the tool to get. I've tried everything else and there's (so far) nothing that comes close to doing what Keywords Analyzer does. I really do think this is a great tool that will drastically improve your keyword research and help you stay on top.
Value for money? A good buy at $97. It sounds like a lot of money but it's half the price of Keyword Elite and a lot less than the other top tools. There's no monthly or recurring fees. And updates are free for life. Own this tool. You won't regret it! |
